Should you wish to examine our wares before parting with your doubtless hard earned funds we will gladly provide you with that opportunity. You can enjoy all the conveniences of Leonardo in the comfort and privacy of your own establishment for a period of thirty days with no outlay whatsoever, other than the time required to obtain this free sample.

Supported Platforms

  • Palm OS 3.0 or better.
  • Palm OS 3.5 or better provides color and greyscale support.
  • Palm OS 4.0 or better provides high resolution display on hi-res Sony Clies (PEG-T400, PEG-T500, PEG-N600, PEG-N700 etc.)
  • Palm OS 5.0 or better provides high resolution display via the "high density" API. Some PDAs with Palm OS 4.x also support high resolution display through this means.
  • Support for Sony Hi-Res Plus (320x480) is available with the Sony NR and NX series Clies.
  • Support for 320x480 is also available on the Tungsten T3 and Garmin iQue 3600, but see below for a note about the T3.

For your convenience the Leonardo files have been made available in the following formats. Please note that installation of Leonardo on your PDA constitutes acceptance of our software licence.

  1. As a friendly installation program for Windows:
  2. As a ZIP archive:
  3. As a SIT archive:
  4. As four separate files:

Depending on your web browser, you will be able to download any of the above files by right-clicking on the links and selecting "Save Target As" or "Save Link As" from the menu that appears. The Windows installation program can be run by double-clicking the file once you have downloaded it. The ZIP archive can be opened using WinZip. The SIT archive can be opened using StuffIt.

The Leonardo download consists of four files - leonardo-en.prc, zenitive.prc, readme.txt and wLeoLeonardo.pdb.

leonardo-en.prc is the Leonardo application itself. zenitive.prc is a shared library for shape drawing. You must install both of these files on your PDA. readme.txt contains a copy of the release notes and software licence. wLeoLeonardo.pdb is the amazing Leonardo image.

If you would like to discuss Leonardo, please join the Leonardo mailing list and post your feedback to the list.

We hope you enjoy using Leonardo.

320 x 480 on the Tungsten T3

Support for 320x480 on the Tungsten T3 may require the installation of two other PRC files, called the "Dynamic Input Area compatibility PRCs". These are supplied by palmOne Inc., and are available for download here. If you install these PRCs, you must install both prcs at the same time; installing them seperately may force a hard reset. This would not be a good thing.

If you are already using other applications that take advantage of the 320x480 screen, you will likely already have these files installed, and do not need to install them again.

Download Leonardo's Workshop 1.0.2 (Windows)

Leonardo's Workshop consists of a desktop application and conduit so you can view, print and export your images to DXF format on your desktop PC. Leonardo's Workshop is currently freely available from the link below. This is an installer for Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP. Please read the readme file before installing Leonardo's Workshop as it contains important information about installation and usage, and a copy of our software licence.

For your convenience we have also made the above files available as a ZIP archive:

Download Leonardo's Workshop 1.1 (Mac)

Leonardo's Workshop consists of a desktop application and conduit so you can view, print and export your images to DXF, JPEG and PNG format on your Mac. Leonardo's Workshop is designed to run on Mac OS 8.6, Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X. If you want to use the Leonardo Conduit, you will need HotSync Manager 3 or newer installed. This comes as part of Palm Desktop 4. Please be sure to read the release notes prior to installation.

For your enjoyment, we have provided a screenshot of Leonardo's Workshop in action on Mac OS X.

Download Zenitive

Zenitive is a shared library that Leonardo uses for drawing objects on the screen. It is included with Leonardo, but it is possible (if for instance someone beamed Leonardo to you) that you do not have it installed. In this case, you will see an error message that tells you which version of Zenitive is required. The following versions of Zenitive are available for download:

  • zenitive.prc version 1.4.5, suitable for Leonardo 1.1 (29,678 bytes)
  • zenitive.prc version 1.3.1, suitable for Leonardo 1.0 (23,086 bytes)

Newer versions of Zenitive can safely be used with older versions of Leonardo - generally this will result in improvements in drawing quality and speed.
